Dulha Sherwani

When one thinks of Indian or Pakistani traditional attire the first thing that comes to the mind is sherwani. For years this garment has been worn by some of the most famous people in the country as it slowly became a symbol of status and success. It has now become a rich part of Indian culture and is seen most often at grand Indian weddings. The duhla sherwani is one of the finest pieces of clothing a man will wear in his life. The fine materials and craftsmanship that go into making these sherwanis is what is responsible for making grooms look handsome and dashing on their wedding day.

The Indian wedding sherwani is a coat or a jacket with a front opening. The jacket ends little below the knees and can be worn with a pyjama, dhoti, salwar or churidar. The footwear mainly consists of Indian ethnic styles like mojris, khussa shoes, Punjabi or Jodhpuri Jooties which compliment the style of the sherwani itself. Shades of black or red are usually the most preferred choice amongst dulhas. White is considered to be more traditional however many young Indian grooms are open to experimenting with new colors and fabrics. Silk, banarasi silk, tanchoi, tussore, brocade etc. are some of the most popular choices primarily because of the comfort and fit they offer. Fashion has evolved, so has the groom. Dulha sherwanis are available online and come in an array of designs and colors each aimed at making the groom’s day a memorable one.
